The Alliance for the Arts is the official nonprofit fundraising arm of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza located in Thousand Oaks, California. Funds raised by the Alliance are dedicated to supporting visual and performing arts and education within our community, ensuring that all have the opportunity to explore, experience and enjoy the wealth of talent, beauty and inspiration that the arts provide.
This year we celebrate three decades of success for the unique public-private partnership between the City of Thousand Oaks and the Alliance for the Arts twice lauded by the National Endowment for the Arts as the most successful public-private partnership of its kind in the United States. The Civic Arts Center enjoys more than 300,000 patrons annually, of whom 50,000 are children, and attend more than 400 performances each year.
The Alliance supports the arts in our community and, through our Kids and the Arts program, provides outreach programs and funding that enables underprivileged children to learn about and attend live performances at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, who otherwise would not have the opportunity.
In addition to bringing children and the arts together, we also provide funding for more than 40 nonprofit performing arts groups, theater operations and maintenance, and continuing art education scholarships. Pro-bono marketing and media services are provided by the Alliance to promote performances and special events. Funds are raised by the Alliance for the Arts through a dedicated Board of Directors, the Angels of the Alliance, and more.
