LUNCH & LEARN: Breast Density, Genetic Risk, and New Updates in Cancer Prevention
    with Nimmi Kapoor, MD
    Thursday, October 27th, 12:00-1:30pm

While 1 in 8 women may be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States, risk is highest amongst women with dense breasts or certain genetic mutations. Participants will learn about breast density and best tools for screening dense breasts. Advances in genetic testing and new mutations in genes such as PALB2, CHEK2, and ATM will also be discussed. Finally, a new horizon on understanding tools for prevention of breast cancer and recurrence will be introduced.

Nimmi S. Kapoor, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified breast surgical oncologist, and is the Medical Director of Breastlink at the Encino Breast Care Center. She completed both general surgery residency and a research fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell, and received advanced Breast Surgical Oncology training and fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, John Wayne Cancer Institute and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Lunch will be generously provided by Ambry Genetics.
