Come celebrate a romantic Valentine’s Eve with your sweetheart or a fun evening out with a friend at this fundraising kickoff event for The Paramount Ranch Restoration. Paramount Ranch was established in 1920 as a moviemaking studio where dozens of early film classics were created. Over the next several decades, the property evolved into a beloved community event space and recreation spot that was destroyed in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. Acquired in 198 by the National Park Service, Paramount Ranch is still used as a place to make TV shows and movies. Funds raised will help SAMO Fund provide the money needed to complete the $12m restoration project being managed by NPS. These funds will be used to restore the burnt film sets on the site, fit out the restored historic buildings and provide materials to interpret the Ranch’s history for future generations. Donations will be matched 1:1 by the Federal Government up to $400k. More information: https://samofund.org/paramount-project.

Written by and starring Oscar & Grammy Award-winning actor, writer, musician and author Steve Martin, “L.A. Story” is a classic romantic comedy set in Los Angeles in the early 90’s. Martin stars as Harris K. Telemacher, a wacky weatherman who thinks his life is perfect, except for an erratic relationship with his style-conscious girlfriend Trudi (Marilu Henner). Then, one bright and smoggy L.A. day, an electronic freeway sign changes his life when its advice leads him into a frivolous romance with a young, beautiful blonde SanDeE* (Sarah Jessica Parker), and ultimately into true love with British newspaper reporter Sara McDowel (Victoria Tennant), the woman of his dreams. The film also stars Richard E. Grant as “Roland Mackey,” with a host of special guest appearances by Chevy Chase, Patrick Stewart, Frances Fisher, Paula Abdul, Larry Miller, Woody Harrelson, Rick Moranis, Sam McMurray, Kevin Pollak, and Iman, among others. “L.A. Story” is a Carolco/Tri-Star Production and is currently distributed by Rialto Pictures.
