SCORE Big With FREE Business Counseling!
SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Business (Service Corps of Retired Executives), is a non-profit resource partner of the Small Business Administration dedicated to educating and counseling entrepreneurs and supporting the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. The organization has approximately 400 chapters and 10,000 volunteer counselors. Its membership includes active, semi-retired and retired business owners, corporate executives and professionals.
SCORE Counselors provide guidance in four basic ways, the most common of which is the one-hour face-to-face discussion. Beyond this, dialogue can continue via e-mail or additional appointments as needed. More comprehensive assistance is available through Saturday seminars held at Oxnard College. Workshops focused on aspects of business covered in the seminars are also available for further development. The schedule is available online at http://www.scoreventura.org/.
SCORE History
Founded in 1971, the Ventura County Chapter has helped thousands of business owners. The chapter currently offers free one on one in-person counseling, low cost workshops and 24/7 on-line counseling. Over 30 experienced volunteer counselors and workshop presenters provide specific industry and general business expertise. All counseling is strictly confidential based on a strict code of ethics. There is no limit to the number of counseling sessions available to a Score client.
Due to the current economic crisis confronting small business, Score is also offering offsite counseling and is seeking experienced volunteers to enable Score to expand its counseling services and workshops for existing businesses.
