The Education & Workforce Development Committee is works to improve the future quality of your workforce by hosting quality educational programs through local partnerships. Meetings include a presentation by featured speakers in the areas of Education, Job Training, Human Resources, Community Programs, and updates from our local partners.
The Education Committee coordinates interaction between businesses and the Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) and partners with private schools/colleges in the Conejo Valley.
This committee also leads our Teacher of the Month Program in partnership with CVUSD, where we honor educational excellence by rewarding teachers with a plaque in their name and gifts from Chamber Members. This is an opportunity for Chamber Members to acknowledge our educators while also giving a brief description of their organization!

This Month's Speaker: Harriet Cohen - Training Solutions
"Growing up in my father’s hardware company, I learned key foundational tools for business success: customer service, target marketing, management development and more. I began my career in education in an Open Space non-graded environment where we had peer education, life skills and competency based learning.
My learning continued throughout my career including a master’s degree in performance management; followed by classes in marketing, strategic planning, assessments, communication and more.
Finally, I was ready to make the leap and start my own business, Training Solutions, a boutique consulting firm that provides expert resources for organizations and individuals to help them achieve their goals, improve customer satisfaction, develop staff on all levels, guide strategic/business planning, address legal and compliance regulations, and positively impact both retention and recruitment. And, yes I am still learning.
I received a BA from the University of Massachusetts; M.Ed. from Boston State College; and am currently an instructor in Management, Training, and Human Resource Development at the University of California Los Angeles."
