Legislative Roundtable provides a setting for dialogue to take place on public policy issues and gives public agency staff, elected officials, their staff and businesses an opportunity to network. Staff members provide brief reports from their prospective agencies to inform each other and members of the chamber of upcoming events or other items of interest.

This Month's Meeting: Councilmember Linda Northrup - City of Agoura Hills - Business Coping Strategies During COVID-19

Councilmember Linda L. Northrup was elected to the Agoura Hills City Council in 2015 and served as Mayor Pro Tem prior to being elected Mayor in December 2018. Before being elected to the City Council, Linda Northrup was a member of the Agoura Hills Planning Commission from 2011 – 2015 and served as Chair in 2015.

Councilmember Northrup is honored to be the first Agoura High School graduate to have served as Mayor of Agoura Hills. She returned to Agoura Hills to raise her family after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from UCLA and a law degree from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Councilmember Northrup moved her law firm to the Conejo Valley in 2005 and she and her husband, Dave Schlueter, a local mediator, have been members of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce for over 15 years.

Councilmember Northrup is also involved in, and a supporter of, many local charitable and community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Senior Concerns and the Cancer Support Community. She has been honored to participate in, and speak at, events sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club and the Las Virgenes Unified School District, including being a panelist at the recent Gen UN Women's Panel program.

In her spare time, the Councilmember Northrup loves to watch baseball with her husband, play in one of the many local parks with her two grandsons, and sew handmade quilts, a family tradition for three generations.
