DESCRIPTION:The Education Committee works to improve the future quality of your workforce by hosting quality educational programs through local partnerships. Meetings include a presentation by featured speakers in the areas of Education\, Job Training\, Human Resources\, Community Programs\, and updates from our local partners.\n\n\n\nThe Education Committee coordinates interaction between businesses\, local school districts\, private schools and universities.\n\n\n\nThis committee also leads our Teacher of the Month Program where we honor educational excellence by rewarding teachers with a plaque in their name and gifts from Chamber Members. This is an opportunity for Chamber Members (you) to acknowledge our educators while also giving a brief description of your organization!\n\n \n\n\nThis Month's Speaker: Dr. Jason Peplinski\, Ed.D. - Distinguished Educator in Residence\, California Lutheran University\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Jason Peplinski began his teaching career in Lancaster\, California\, where he taught International Baccalaureate Spanish\, Biology\, Drama\, and Vocal Music at Quartz Hill High School. He moved to Ventura County\, California through Moorpark High School in 2000\, where he taught AP Spanish and served in several different leadership capacities. Dr. Peplinski coached both boys' and girls' volleyball for many years with several top State teams.\n\n \n\nThe Simi Valley Unified School District welcomed Dr. Peplinski in 2004 when he accepted a job as the Assistant Principal of Royal High School (2004-07). From there\, he served as Principal of Abraham Lincoln School in Simi (2007-09)\, Moorpark High School in Moorpark (2009-11) and then Santa Susana High School from 2011-13. \n\n \n\nIn 2013\, he accepted the position of Director of Educational Services at the Simi Valley Unified district office. In 2014\, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. In October of 2014\, Dr. Peplinski was named Superintendent of the Simi Valley Unified School District. \n\n \n\nDr. Peplinski earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University in 2014. He also served as a Regent for the California Lutheran University board from 2012-14. Currently\, Dr. Peplinski serves on the Capables Foundation Board. \n\n\n \n\n\n\nConsider attending this committee if:\n\n\n Your business is education-related.\n Your target client market is young families or educators.\n You have a general interest in partnership with education/workforce programs.\n All Chamber members are welcome to attend
