    Frankly Speaking about Cancer Series: Lung Cancer

    WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — The Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa
    Barbara (CscVvsb) announces a free workshop, “Frankly Speaking about Cancer Series: Lung Cancer with Dr. James G. McPherson” on Tuesday, June 27th, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., at Wellness Room of St John's Regional Medical Center , 1700 N. Rose, Oxnard, CA 93030. Please call Diane at (805) 988-2500 ext. 4696 or visit www.cancersupportVvsb.org.  This workshop provides fundamental information about the most current lung cancer treatments, strategies for symptom/side-effect management and tools for survivorship. This will also include ways of managing and maintaining a high quality of life while living with lung cancer. This workshop will be followed with a Q & A session. Featured speaker: James McPherson, MD.
    Dr. James G. McPherson is a cardiovascular surgeon at Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons of Ventura County, located in Oxnard, Ventura County, CA. He is also a medical director of the Los Angeles Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Group. Dr. McPherson is board certified in thoracic surgery and performs all aspects of adult cardiac, general thoracic, and peripheral vascular surgery. He was recently appointed the chairman of the general surgery section at St. Vincent Medical Center. He has also served as chairman of surgery at Centinela Hospital Medical Center and Medical Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at St. Vincent Medical Center.
