Employment law firm LightGabler is presenting a free employment law seminar, "5 Things Ex-Employees Can Do To Ruin Your Day. . . And What You Can Do About Them." The seminar will be held twice, September 11 in Oxnard and September 25 in Simi Valley.

The day of an employee’s separation from an employer can often generate a set of challenges involving complex and sometimes conflicting confidentiality and competition rules. Workers have the right to leave and seek employment with a competitor, but they also owe ongoing obligations to their previous employer.

In this informative seminar, intellectual property and anti-competition attorney Glenn J. Dickinson of LightGabler will discuss the actions former employees often take to benefit themselves at their previous company’s expense. Dickinson will answer such questions as "What constitutes fair competition, as opposed to unfair competition?" "How can I monitor the ex-employees’ conduct and decide whether to take action?" "What can I do to control the damage?" and "What language should I include in confidentiality agreements and separation documents?"

The Oxnard seminar will be held at the Oxnard Courtyard Marriott (600 East Esplanade Dr., Oxnard) and the Simi Valley seminar will take place at the Best Western Posada Royale Hotel (1775 Madera Rd., Simi Valley). Both seminars are from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

A continental breakfast will be served. Attendance is limited to no more than three people per company. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance and can be made by going to http://www.lightgablerlaw.com and clicking on “Seminars & Training.” For questions, call 805-248-7089.
