Employment law firm LightGabler is presenting "When Your Best Friends Become Your Worst Enemies: Handling Competition From Ex-Employees." The seminar will be held twice: Tuesday, June 11, in Oxnard and Tuesday, August 27, in Simi Valley.

Mobility in the workplace is the norm in every industry and profession. The people a company values most can suddenly become the people who represent the biggest threat. Sales people jump ship; will the customers follow? A company wants to bring in talent from a competitor; is it walking into a lawsuit by doing so? Employers must understand their legal rights to fully protect the company's intellectual property and competitive edge.

In this informative seminar for employers, supervisors and human resource professionals, employment law attorney Glenn J. Dickinson will discuss such topics as how to protect your company's interests when employees defect, what restrictions employers can and can't put on competition from ex-employees, how to use trade secrets law to minimize damage, confidentiality agreements and other procedures to prepare for employee departures and precautions to take when hiring from competitors.

The Oxnard seminar will be held at the Oxnard Courtyard Marriott (600 East Esplanade Dr., Oxnard) and the Simi Valley seminar will take place at the Best Western Posada Royale Hotel (1775 Madera Rd., Simi Valley). Both seminars are from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

A continental breakfast will be served. Attendance is limited to no more than three people per company. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance and can be made by going to http://www.lightgablerlaw.com and clicking on “Seminars & Training.” For questions, call 805-248-7089.
