LOS ROBLES HEALTH SYSTEM DONATES $30,000 TO BENEFIT YOUTH SPORTS AT LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS

Thousand Oaks, CA, October 20, 2022 - Los Robles Health System is donating $30,000 and providing sports medicine supplies to Newbury Park High School, Thousand Oaks High School and Westlake High School.

The donation in partnership with the Conejo Concussion Institute will help educate and provide awareness in regards to the impact of concussions in youth sports to both student athletes and their families. Most importantly, this program allows our local youth to have access to trainers, doctors and physical therapists while keeping their healthcare needs top of mind. Students are able to have access to these resources and professionals regardless of their health insurance status. Natalie Mussi, CEO of Los Robles Health System, stated, “Los Robles loves supporting our local youth, and we are proud to be partnering with the Conejo Valley Unified School District and the Conejo Concussion Institute to support this great cause and ensure that all of our students have equal access to sports medicine.”

Scott Blatt, founder of the Conejo Concussion Institute, and his team are passionate about educating our youth athletes on the impact of concussions in order to better identify, diagnose and prevent sports injuries for future generations. Scott Blatt shared, “Concussions are making headline news yet again, which further fortifies our mission at Conejo Concussion Institute to equip our athletes and their families with the education and resources they need to ensure our athlete’s healthcare needs are prioritized.”

This donation is one of several ways that Los Robles Health System partners with our local school district. For decades, Los Robles has teamed up with the Conejo Valley Unified School District to teach our youth the importance of hands only CPR, Stop the Bleed and encourage curiosity within the field of medicine and healthcare. Victor Hayek, Deputy Superintendent of the Conejo Valley Unified School District, shared, “We are grateful for Los Robles’ ongoing partnership and their generosity towards our students both on and off the field.”
