BumbleBee Foundation Announces Expansion to Idaho

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA—The BumbleBee Foundation, a pediatric cancer organization founded in Southern California a decade ago, will be expanding its support services to the state of Idaho starting next year. The foundation currently supports over 370 pediatric cancer families throughout the state of California and is looking forward to helping even more families in need in Idaho.

“Even though we are expanding, the Conejo Valley will always serve as home for BumbleBee,” said Heather Donatini, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the BumbleBee Foundation. “This community provided us a lifeline when we were fighting for our son Jarren’s life. We are honored to continue giving that same support to our cancer families.”

The expansion to Idaho will not change any of BumbleBee’s support services and events provided in California. All of BumbleBee’s six (6) core programs will continue running, including Patient Aid, BEEday, Holiday BEE, Spring Baskets, BEEpack, and Kelli’s Wagons.

BumbleBee’s office will remain open in Westlake Village with the assistance of volunteers. Heather along with Amy Wing, BumbleBee’s Vice President of Operations, will work remotely from Idaho and travel to California as needed for programs and events.

The foundation’s expansion to Idaho will help BumbleBee Foundation continue its mission of sharing hope with pediatric cancer families, like BumbleBee parent Sam Covert’s whose child was diagnosed with cancer several years ago. “They came in like guardian angels to help us and countless others,” Covert said.
