    Genetic Counseling Workshop

    WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — The Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa
    Barbara (CscVvsb) announces a free workshop, “Genetic Counseling Workshop with John Lee” on Tuesday, October 10th, 6:30-8:00pm, at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village, CA 91361. Please call 805-379-4777 to RSVP or to learn more. Genetic testing for hereditary cancer syndromes has rapidly improved in recent years. This workshop will discuss the recent advances in genetic testing beyond BRCA1 and BRCA2, impact on patient care, risk of male and female cancers, cost of testing, and familial implications.
    John Lee, MS, LCGC is the supervising genetic counselor in the GenRISK Adult Genetics program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is actively involved in clinical cancer genetics, including risk assessment, genetic testing, and case management. He is board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counselors and licensed in the state of California. He is interested in oncology and sees patients with a variety of different cancer types, including breast, ovary, colon, and others. He also assists with training of genetic counseling students and genetic counseling graduate applicants.
