    Procter & Gamble Provides a Record $200,000
to United Way’s Community Impact Efforts

Ventura, CA, February 8, 2021 – Procter & Gamble local employees raised a record $162,000 from employee giving in addition to over $38,000 in special events, sponsorship and COVID-19 Rapid Response. In addition to giving, P&G employees volunteered their time by packing more than 1,560 Stuff the Bus backpacks and provided Welcome Home Holiday Baskets for families recently housed through United Way’s Landlord Engagement Program.

“The P&G Oxnard Plant is proud to partner with United Way to serve the most vulnerable in our community with this philanthropic support,” said Marvelle Berry, Plant Manager of Procter & Gamble Oxnard. “Our team really rose to the occasion with their engagement, innovation, and generosity of gifts. P&G has a longstanding commitment in creating positive change locally in Ventura County and I am pleased with our collective impact.”

As a global corporate leader with United Way Worldwide, P&G's philanthropy and volunteering is building stronger communities all over the world. In Latin America, P&G has made it possible to launch Born Learning, United Way's initiative to boost school readiness, in Panama, Peru, Mexico, Columbia, Brazil and Argentina. In Argentina, parents are getting more information to help their kids get ready for school, and childcare workers are receiving training in early childhood development. More than 2,600 young children have benefited as a result.

P&G received the Roy Pinkerton Award for outstanding corporate citizenship at the 2020 Virtual Spirit Awards, the fifth time they’ve received the award since 2005.

“We are truly grateful for P&G’s longstanding leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy in the community,” said Eric Harrison, President and CEO of United Way of Ventura County. “In the midst of a global health crisis, P&G led by Plant Manager Marvelle Berry has raised the bar in leading the way as a champion of improving the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors in need and making a lasting impact in Ventura County.”
