    Ventura County Board of Supervisors Approves Carolyn Vang-Walker
    As A New Member Of The Workforce Development Board
     
    Ventura, Calif.—The Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved the Workforce Development Board (WDB) Membership Committee’s recommendation to appoint Carolyn Vang-Walker as a new member. She will serve a three-year term.
     
    Vang-Walker is the director/principal of Ventura Adult and Continuing Education (VACE), an organization that provides programs for adult learners so they are prepared for in-demand jobs. As director/principal, Vang-Walker is actively involved in the planning process to align adult education programs with industry sector needs.
     
    "I recognize the value and importance of collaboration to foster the coordination and integration of workforce development programs," says Vang-Walker. "I am truly honored to have been approved to serve on the Workforce Development Board of Ventura County and look forward to the opportunity to begin my term."
     
    Vang-Walker began at VACE as a teacher, then assistant principal and now principal/director. She holds an M.A. in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University.
     
    "Carolyn is a wonderful addition to the board. We are looking forward to working with her," says Gregory Liu, WDB Chair. "She brings a wealth of education-side experience and insight as we look for ways to enhance the education-workplace connection."
     
    In addition to approving Vang-Walker, the board reappointed four current board members: Jeremy Goldberg, executive director, Tri-Counties Labor Council (AFL-CIO), Richard Trogman, senior vice president/chief operating officer, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, California, Stephen Yeoh, director, Un1tee, Tracy Perez, regional manager, United Staffing Associates and Peter Zierhut, vice president- Motorsports Marketing, Haas Automation.
     
    Members of the WDB include leaders from business, economic development, education, labor, government and community-based organizations.
