The Education & Workforce Development Committee is works to improve the future quality of your workforce by hosting quality educational programs through local partnerships. Meetings include a presentation by featured speakers in the areas of Education, Job Training, Human Resources, Community Programs, and updates from our local partners.
The Education Committee coordinates interaction between businesses and the Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) and partners with private schools/colleges in the Conejo Valley.
This committee also leads our Teacher of the Month Program in partnership with CVUSD, where we honor educational excellence by rewarding teachers with a plaque in their name and gifts from Chamber Members. This is an opportunity for Chamber Members (you) to acknowledge our educators while also giving a brief description of your organization!
*Recipients are chosen by CVUSD*
This Month's Speaker: Camila Fuentes - Amazing Lash Studio
"Growing up with serial entrepreneurs in my family, Education has been a huge part of my life. My Family owns a Spanish Immersion early learning center called Rayito De Sol, where we teach children from the ages of 6 weeks old until 6 years to learn Spanish with an immersion of STEAM curriculum, from that business I have learned so many tools and skills that have shaped me into how i manage a business today.
I earned my degree in International Business and I went straight into the franchise world, I always knew I wanted to help other and being in the industry where we can provide a service to people that come to take care of themselves is the most amazing feeling in the world. I started my career at Massage Envy and quickly moved up with the company manager the Orange County region. At one event, I learned about Amazing Lash Studio, and after doing some research, I quickly realized that the business model was similar to Massage Envy so I felt comfortable going in for a service myself and joined their membership. After being a very happy customer for many months and loving the company, and opportunity came across to join their team and I didn't even think twice!
Fast forwarding 3 years, I have met some of the most amazing people throughout the nation from business owners to of course the heart and soul of the company, The Last Stylists! All of them have their Esthetician/Cosmetology license and most of them have their degrees in other backgrounds, but they realized that was not their passion. My job is not only to operate a business, but to motivate and educate others to find their career path.
