The Committee coordinates interaction between businesses and the local school districts, Conejo Valley Unified School District and Las Virgines Unified School District, and partners with private schools and colleges in the Conejo Valley area. The committee also encourages educational excellence by rewarding teachers and students with monthly awards and yearly scholarships.
This Month's Speaker: Thousand Oaks Library - Virtual Reality Demonstration
For this meeting, attendees will be part of a Virtual Reality Demonstration hosted by the Thousand Oaks Library and their professional staff. This demonstration is part of new services that the library is expanding on such as 3-D printing and basic programming.
The Grant R. Brimhall Library and the Newbury Park Branch library have been a vital resource for books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, Blu-rays and DVDs, puppets and music CDs. The Virtual Library is available 24/7 and includes free access to popular resources such as Lynda.com, Rosetta Stone, New York Times online, and the Small Business Reference Center. Download eBook, eAudiobooks, eVideos, eNewspapers, and eMagazines -- all free with your library card.
