GIFT (Gaining Insight for Transition) for Women is a group sponsored by the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce. Its purpose is to create and support a thriving network for women in transitional stages and empower them to connect with their passions, dreams and skills through access to a guest lecture series, employment and volunteer opportunities, and monthly meetings that encourage personal and professional growth. GIFT attendees will have an opportunity to mingle and discuss topics such as women contemplating career change, mothers considering returning to work, and empty-nesters searching for their next step.
Meetings are held at the Chamber facilities from 12:00-1:00 PM on the first Tuesday of each month. *Meetings are "brown bag lunch" - participants are welcome to bring lunch. GIFT does not meet during the months of June-September and will resume for the month of October.
GIFT meeting will have two parts:
I. A mini workshop on tools to use during life's many transitions
II. Guest Speaker - GIFT Storytelling: Dr. Peggy Wozniak
May GIFT Speaker is Dr. Peggy Wozniak, Educator and Consultant with 20+ years in the field of education. Majority of Peggy’s career was devoted to her thousands of students (her children) in her role as superintendent. She was also one of the pioneers and designers of a very comprehensive training program offered by California School Boards Association where I had the pleasure of meeting her as a fellow Masters In Governance Faculty and Consulatant. Peggy and Sepideh continues to collaborate on various programs they we both find the field of educational leadership fulfilling. I hope you can join this last GIFT meeting (until Ocotober) as we hear Peggy’s story of life transitions. Peggy has also been requested to talk about and share some key points of programs she has developed specifically for women negotiating higher salaries, raises and money conversations in general.
Meetings are free to attend for Chamber members and non-members.
