Legislative Roundtable provides a setting for dialogue to take place on public policy issues and gives public agency staff, elected officials, their staff and businesses an opportunity to network. The meeting includes a guest speaker on a public sector topic and regular updates from our local cities, agencies, and elected officials.

Staff members provide brief reports from their prospective agencies to inform each other and members of the chamber of upcoming events or other items of interest.

Akbar Alikhan, Deputy City Manager for the City of Thousand Oaks
Topic: The City of Thousand Oaks Campus Master Plan 

Akbar Alikhan is the Deputy City Manager for the City of Thousand Oaks since June 2023, returning to the City after 10 years working in both the public and private sector. Most recently, Akbar served as the Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager for the City of Ventura. He is a graduate of Newbury Park High School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics and Master’s in Public Administration, both from Cornell University. Akbar and his wife, along with their Labrador retriever, are Thousand Oaks residents and frequent users of open space trails.
