This Month's Speaker: Dr. Jose Marichal, Professor at California Lutheran University

Dr. Jose Marichal is a professor of political science at California Lutheran University. He's a published author with Facebook Democracy which looks at the role that the popular social network played on the formation of political identity across different countries. Currently, he is working on You are an Algorithmic Problem, a book that looks at the effect of the “Algorithmic Age” on political citizenship. In 2023, Dr. Marichal had several topical articles published on AI including: The Real Danger of AI, Strategic Vexing to Prepare Student for the Age of AI, and more.

Legislative Roundtable provides a setting for dialogue to take place on public policy issues and gives public agency staff, elected officials, their staff and businesses an opportunity to network. The meeting includes a guest speaker on a public sector topic and regular updates from our local cities, agencies, and elected officials.

Staff members provide brief reports from their prospective agencies to inform each other and members of the chamber of upcoming events or other items of interest.
