    Name: Legislative Roundtable
    Date: July 25, 2023
    Time: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM PDT
    Event Description:

Legislative Roundtable provides a setting for dialogue to take place on public policy issues and gives public agency staff, elected officials, their staff and businesses an opportunity to network. The meeting includes a guest speaker on a public sector topic and regular updates from our local cities, agencies, and elected officials.

Staff members provide brief reports from their prospective agencies to inform each other and members of the chamber of upcoming events or other items of interest.

    This Month's Speaker:

    Captain Jennifer Seetoo
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - Malibu/Lost Hills Station.

Captain Jennifer Seetoo has served Los Angeles County as a law enforcement officer for nearly twenty-five years. She has extensive investigative, managerial, educational, and international experience. While working in homeland security, she worked with the Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Los Angeles Joint Regional Intelligence Center.

Captain Seetoo graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School with a master's degree in Homeland Defense and Security. Additionally, she is a recent graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, class 279.

Today, Captain Seetoo is the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station captain. She has a vast array of experience at the station. In 2018, on her third day at Malibu/Lost Hills Station, the Woolsey Fire burned through her jurisdiction. She was the first incident commander and helped evacuate approximately 250,000 people. As a result of her efforts, Senator Stern selected her as the 2018 Woman of the Year for California's 27th District.

Captain Seetoo and her husband, Joe Seetoo, are deeply involved in the community. They are residents of Westlake Village, where they are raising their two young daughters.
