    Event Description:
    Legislative Roundtable provides a setting for dialogue to take place on public policy issues and gives public agency staff, elected officials, their staff and businesses an opportunity to network. The meeting includes a guest speaker on a public sector topic and regular updates from our local cities, agencies, and elected officials.

    Staff members provide brief reports from their prospective agencies to inform each other and members of the chamber of upcoming events or other items of interest.

    Topic:  Priorities as Police Chief

    Commander Jeremy Paris began his career with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office in 1998 after attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. Jeremy has worked a variety of assignments in investigative and tactical units including; the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail, the Sheriff’s Gang Unit, and the Narcotics Bureau.  He was also a member of the SWAT team for over ten years and has been managing the Bomb Squad for the last five years.   

    Jeremy was promoted to captain in 2016 and worked as a watch commander and the assistant chief of police in the City of Camarillo. In 2019, Jeremy was transferred to the Aviation Unit where he oversaw the Search and Rescue program and managed all aviation operations for the county.  Jeremy was promoted to commander in 2021 and was assigned to the Professional Standards Bureau where he had responsibility for Internal Affairs, the Academy, and the Audit Unit.

    In June of 2021, Commander Paris was assigned to serve as the Chief of Police for the City of Thousand Oaks.
