Nancy Silverton will be the featured Chef for a virtual dinner party and cooking demo on Sunday May 31, 2020.
Ms. Silverton has been named a James Beard Outstanding Chef, has authored 10 cookbooks, among many other great distinctions, and is the Culinary Ambassador of The Farmhouse at the Ojai Valley Inn. Silverton is recognized for her role in popularizing sourdough and artisan breads in the United States.and as founder of La Brea Bakery. Currently, Nancy Silverton is the owner of chi SPACCA and Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles. She has designed a special multi-course meal for the charity dinner and live demo that will be delivered along with wine and treats to each guest. Event will be hosted by Billy Harris and all proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties.
This virtual event is critical to supporting Make-A-Wish and their ability to continue to grant heartfelt wishes. With most all spring and summer fundraisers having been postponed or cancelled due to Covid-19, coming-up with a new way to connect to our supporters was vital. Make-A-Wish wanted to find a way to engage with the community during this time of social distancing. This unique evening will include a cocktail demo with Mixologist Charlotte Voisey and a cooking demo with Chef Silverton featuring some of her restaurant’s most popular dishes. Proceeds from the zoom dinner party will help grant wishes for vulnerable children with life-threatening medical conditions in our community.
