    Protect Your Identity
    WHO:              Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation and the Thousand Oaks Police Charitable
    Foundation are hosting a free community document shred event.
    WHAT:            Community residents who want to protect against identity theft and shred their sensitive documents by a professional shredding service for no cost.

    8:00AM- 12:00PM
    WHERE:         Thousand Oaks Teen Center
    1375 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362

    WHY:              -Identity Theft affects nearly 15 million persons a year and is the fastest growing crime. The approximate loss for each person is $3,500, with over $50 billion in damages.
    -Ventura County Sheriff’s Foundation and the Thousand Oaks Police Charitable Foundation are seeking the public’s participation in shredding their documents as a way of protecting their identification.

    The Thousand Oaks Police Charitable Foundation (TOPCF) was organized to promote community welfare through support of public safety and volunteer programs. In addition, their objective is to enhance the quality of life within the community and to deter crime through education and support from the community.
