Employment law firm LightGabler is presenting a free employment law seminar, "What Have You Done For Me Lately? Creating Effective and Legally-Compliant Job Descriptions." The seminar will be held twice: Tuesday, October 9 in Oxnard and Tuesday, October 23 in Simi Valley.

Defining the employee's role is a critical component of workplace productivity, strategic planning and legal compliance. Job descriptions, if properly prepared, can provide guidance for employees on meeting the company's goals and the supervisor's expectations while at protecting against workplace litigation.

In this informative seminar for employers, supervisors and human resource professionals, employment law attorney Karen L. Gabler will discuss best practices and legal tips for creating effective job descriptions. Topics include the top job description mistakes, the critical components of an effective job description, job descriptions to implement employee discipline and evaluation, using job descriptions to defend against employee litigation and tips to help prepare for 2019.

The Oxnard seminar will be held at the Oxnard Courtyard Marriott (600 East Esplanade Dr., Oxnard) and the Simi Valley seminar will take place at the Best Western Posada Royale Hotel (1775 Madera Rd., Simi Valley). Both seminars are from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

A continental breakfast will be served. Attendance is limited to no more than three people per company. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance and can be made by going to http://www.lightgablerlaw.com and clicking on “Seminars & Training.” For questions, call 805-248-7089.
