SAMO FUND & WESTERN NATIONAL PARKS ASSOCIATION HONOR LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST WINNERS, SATURDAY, JAN. 15
Thousand Oaks, CA -- Santa Monica Mountains Fund and Western National Parks Association will honor the winners of the 2021 OUTDOORS Photo Contest this Saturday, January 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Anthony C. Beilenson Interagency Visitor Center at King Gillette Ranch, 26876 Mulholland Highway, Calabasas, CA 91302.
Considering CoVid, the event will take place outdoors. Masks will be required for anyone going inside the Visitor Center to view the exhibition.
All the beautiful photos in the contest were taken by local amateur photographers within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Winning shots highlight the beauty of this stunning place that forms the largest urban national park in the country.
The ceremony will include the Sheila Braden Memorial Award given to the overall winner. This award has been set up in honor of Sheila Braden, a longstanding member of the National Park Service staff who set up the original photo contest many years ago.
The winning photos have been published in this year’s OUTDOORS Calendar which can be purchased at https://samofund.org/store while supply lasts for $25 each. All proceeds go to the Santa Monica Mountains Fund, the official non-profit of the National Park Service in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
