• Mandated Harassment Prevention Training Video Available Through LightGabler

    California law requires employers with at least 5 employees to provide two hours of harassment prevention training to supervisors and one hour of instruction to other workers once every two years. Employment law firm LightGabler offers online video courses that meet California harassment and bullying training requirements.
     
    SB 1343 also mandates that employers must train newly hired employees and those promoted to supervisory roles within six months of employment or promotion.
     
    "Video instruction enables employees to take the course when it's convenient for them," says Jonathan Fraser Light, an employment law attorney at LightGabler and the video’s featured training instructor. "With many employees still working remotely and large, in-person meetings discouraged, online training can make the most sense."
     
    Employees take an online test after viewing the training video. Once the test is successfully completed, they receive a certificate of completion that will go into their personnel files. If employees have questions about the training, they can email LightGabler directly for any content clarification.
     
    Businesses have unlimited use of the videos for current employees and future hires. Companies can track which employees complete the training so they can make sure all employees are up to date on their training requirements and the business stays in compliance.
     
    The one-time cost of both supervisor and staff training videos is $750 for employers with 500 or fewer employees and $1,200 for employers with over 500 employees. In-person training is also available.
