SCORE’s Workshop Series Launch Leads to Formation of Mastermind Networking Group for Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs

Ventura County, CA, June 19, 2024— a recent in-person business workshop that was hosted and sponsored by the City of Thousand Oaks and presented by the Ventura County Chapter of SCORE was such a success that some of the participants expressed an interest in continuing to meet to network and share ideas on how to run a successful small business. Further discussions with the interested participants led to the formation of the Conejo Valley Mastermind Group which had its first meeting on June 13 and is being led by SCORE volunteers Sylvia Crew and Camille Marsh.

Crew reported that “the room was full of enthusiasm. Each person introduced themselves and shared a challenge they are working on. Then we discussed goals for future meetings as well as guidelines we wish to follow. Networking, a key to success, followed! That could have gone on all day!”

The Mastermind Group plans to meet monthly and, in addition to networking, will cover a range of topics such as marketing, e-Commerce, and accounting practices and tools. The next meeting will be held on July 9 from 8:30-10:00AM in Westlake Village.
SCORE in-person workshops are being held throughout the year in Ventura County cities and are offered to the business community at no cost.
