• Terri Hilliard Attorney Named to Haven Hills Board

    Carí Jackson Lewis, Esq., an attorney with Westlake Village's Terri Hilliard, P.C., has been appointed to the Haven Hills, Inc. board of directors, which oversees the non-profit organization’s efforts to help victims of domestic violence.
     
    In making the announcement, Iliana Tavera, executive director of Haven Hills, Inc., said, “We are delighted to have Cari join our board, as she is a wonderful, compassionate person, who also brings to our organization a wealth of knowledge in fund raising and non-profit law. She will benefit Haven Hills immensely and we look forward to working with her.”
     
    Since 1977, Encino, CA-based Haven Hills has aided over 3,000 men and women, providing safety and support to victims of domestic violence.  The non-profit offers shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and activities to help break the cycle of abuse and build positive, productive lifestyles for those they serve.
     
    Over the past 20 years, Jackson Lewis has been involved in a number of law practice areas, including estate planning and probate, estate litigation, elder law, special needs law, and planned giving.  She has worked with prestigious law firms in New York and London. 
     
    In addition to her legal practice, Jackson Lewis has been active in philanthropy management and consulting in Melbourne, Australia and special education programs in the San Fernando Valley. She is also a member of both the Outreach and Social Concerns Committee at the United Methodist Church of Westlake and the Center for Non-profit Leadership at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
     
    Jackson Lewis worked as a Legal Extern at the law firm of Terri Hilliard, P.C. while attending Loyola Law School’s Master of Laws (LL.M., Taxation) Program, which she recently completed. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1996 and is expected to be admitted to the California State Bar in mid-2018.  Her undergraduate degree is from Dartmouth College and her law degree is from Fordham Law School.
