Plans to increase workforce development opportunities and skills in Ventura County through 2022 will be discussed at a Zoom Workforce Development Board of Ventura County (WDB) Strategic Workforce Planning Roundtable Thursday, January 28, from noon to 1:00 p.m. The public is invited to discuss the plans and provide input.

One regional and one local plan was  initially created in 2017 by WDB as part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

The plans provide a detailed outline of the proposed activities of WDB, educational institutions, and businesses that will lead to a high-quality, appropriately-skilled workforce ready to support the changing business needs of local employers so the region can thrive locally and compete in a global economic environment.

"In the last year, we've seen major changes in the way businesses operate. Many of these changes will remain even after the current economic and health-related crises are behind us," says Rebecca Evans, WDB executive director. "It's the WDB's mission to continue to be at the forefront to help current and future employers and employees succeed in Ventura County. We encourage the community and stakeholders to join in the discussion."
