    Name: Education Committee
    Date: September 2, 2021
    Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM PDT
    Event Description:

The Education Committee works to improve the future quality of your workforce by hosting quality educational programs through local partnerships. Meetings include a presentation by featured speakers in the areas of Education, Job Training, Human Resources, Community Programs, and updates from our local partners.

The Education Committee coordinates interaction between businesses, local school districts, private schools and universities.

This committee also leads our Teacher of the Month Program where we honor educational excellence by rewarding teachers with a plaque in their name and gifts from Chamber Members. This is an opportunity for Chamber Members (you) to acknowledge our educators while also giving a brief description of your organization!

    This Month's Speaker:

    Jennifer Duston
    Client Partner, FranklinCovey

Jennifer Duston is a former educator of over 20 years having served as a Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher, Activities Director, and Athletic Director. She currently serves a Client Partner for Franklin Covey Education, one of the leading leadership development companies in the world. Using the foundations from the best selling 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, Jennifer is an ambassador and champion for leadership development in our community.

Jennifer is also highly committed to volunteering and making her community better. She currently serves as the President of the Ventura Police Community Foundation, is a member of 2 local Chambers of Commerce, and has served as President of her daughters high school PTO, the National Charity League Juniors of Ventura County, and is a proud alumni of VCLA (Ventura County Leadership Academy).

In her free time, you will find her spending time with what she considers her biggest achievement—her family. You might see her on the road, driving around her daughter Maycie, who is a Junior in high school to all her volleyball practices and ASB events; preparing to send her oldest daughter, Madison, off to University of Oregon(GO DUCKS!), or hanging out with her husband, Ryan, who is a teacher and Cross Country coach.
