Conejo Schools Foundation announces leadership change
Local education nonprofit seeks new executive director and new direction

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (March 9, 2022) — Conejo Schools Foundation (CSF), a nonprofit organization that seeks to enhance the resources currently available to students and teachers in the Conejo Valley, has announced the departure of its longtime executive director, Cindy Goldberg.

“The Foundation is tremendously grateful for the committed and dedicated work that Cindy provided daily to students and teachers in the Conejo Valley on behalf of the Foundation,” said Sue Wells, president of CSF. “She put her whole heart into overseeing and executing our student-first initiatives and we sincerely wish her the best in her next career opportunity.”

The Foundation had its hand in the many of the district’s enrichment activities, including the All-District Band Festival, Get Ahead Summer School, Parents Making a Difference, completing The Carpenter Family Theatre at Westlake High School, and hundreds of Cash for Classroom grants. With eyes toward the future, the Foundation board — which started as a group of committed parents and community members meeting weekly at Eggs ’n’ Things to create a foundation to support all students and schools — plans to use this transitional time to examine its growth and set new goals as it celebrates nearly 20 years of service to CVUSD schools, students and teachers. Through this process, the board will also be seeking a new executive director to help champion these efforts.
