Greg Koubek is the new Executive Director of the Triunfo YMCA. Koubek, who began his new job April 16, is responsible for managing current operations as well as overseeing the transition to the new Triunfo YMCA when the new facility opens in 2019.

"Greg is known for his strong leadership skills and community outreach," says Ronnie Stone, President and CEO of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA, which includes the Triunfo YMCA branch. "He is well-suited to take the Triunfo Y forward as it starts this exciting new chapter."

Koubek has been involved in the YMCA for over 18 years. He was previously Executive Director of the West Valley YMCA for nine years where he was instrumental in creating programs encouraging healthy families, strong community connections and positive youth and teen development.

While in college, Koubek played basketball at Duke University under Coach Mike Krzyzewski, playing on four Final Four teams and on Duke's first National Championship team in 1991. He played professionally in Hungary, Turkey, Japan and South Africa.

A 10-year Westlake Village resident, Koubek is now able to realize a lifetime dream of working for the same community where his family lives.

"The Y can bring people of all ages together to not only help them meet their healthy lifestyle needs, but more importantly, to give everyone an opportunity to give back and make our community better," says Koubek. "I am so grateful for the dedication and vision of key stakeholders in this community who have placed our Y in a position to soon open a brand new facility. It has truly been a marathon for them and it will be my privilege to help carry out their vision."

The Triunfo YMCA serves Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Calabasas and Oak Park. The Y can be reached at 818-707-9622 or online at www.sevymca.org/triunfo.
